Eva Jablonka

Eva Jablonka is an Israeli evolutionary theorist and geneticist, best known for her interest in epigenetic inheritance. Born in 1952 in Poland, she emigrated to Israel in 1957. She is a professor at the Sagol School of Neuroscience, Tel-Aviv and the Social Science London School of Economics, University of London. In 1981 she was awarded the Landau Prize of Israel for outstanding Master of Science work (M.Sc.) and in 1988 the Marcus Prize for outstanding Ph.D. work. She is an advocate of academic freedom, acknowledging that on such issues “academic and political issues cannot really be kept separate,” although she is not an advocate of simplistic solutions and shows a preference for describing her own position.
